Sleeping at CDG Airport: Airside Cabins, Lounges and Hotels
Charles de Gaulle handles overnight passengers better than most large hubs, for one reason: it has a real hotel airside. The realistic options are a cabin in the transit zone, the Sheraton one floor above the terminal, a lounge, or a hotel a few minutes away on the free CDGVAL shuttle. Which makes sense depends on your terminal, your layover, and whether you want to cross immigration.
YOTELAIR: sleeping airside in Terminal 2E
The standout option for transit passengers is YOTELAIR Paris CDG: about 80 compact cabins in the transit zone of Terminal 2E, near Gate L, bookable by the hour with a four-hour minimum or for the whole night. Because it is airside, a passenger connecting between two international flights can shower and sleep in a real bed without clearing immigration and without re-entering security afterwards.
Cabins are small by design, with an en-suite shower room, adjustable smart beds and Wi-Fi. If your connection uses another terminal, factor in the transfer to 2E and check whether your boarding pass lets you into that part of the transit zone before relying on it.
The Sheraton, one floor up
Sheraton Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport Hotel is built into Terminal 2 itself, directly above the RER and TGV station. It is landside, so arriving passengers walk there in minutes without any shuttle, and departing guests from Terminal 2 gates can be at check-in on foot. For an evening arrival followed by an early Terminal 2 departure, nothing at CDG is more convenient.
Lounges
CDG has a wide spread of lounges, led by the Extime lounges in the main terminals and the large Air France lounges for eligible passengers, with several open to paying guests through Dragonpass and similar programmes. A lounge buys quiet, food and often a shower for a four to six hour gap, but no bed; when the gap is longer, a YOTELAIR cabin usually costs little more than two lounge entries and gives you actual sleep.
Sleeping in the terminals
If you do stay in the terminal, expect the standard airport realities plus one CDG-specific one: the airport is a collection of separate terminals, and parts of them close overnight, so you may be moved. Lighting stays bright, cleaning continues, and most seating has fixed armrests. Bring an eye mask and earplugs, keep valuables against you, and settle near an open, staffed area. The free CDGVAL shuttle between terminals runs from about 04:00 to 01:00; overnight, transfers switch to the N1 airport night shuttle, so allow extra time for a dawn flight from a different terminal.
When a hotel is the better answer
For anything over about eight hours, or any overnight before a morning departure, a bed wins. Beyond the two in-terminal options, Hilton Paris Charles de Gaulle and citizenM Paris Charles de Gaulle are a short walk from Terminal 3 and the Roissypole CDGVAL stop, and ibis Styles or Holiday Inn Express offer lower rates one free CDGVAL ride away.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I sleep overnight inside CDG Airport?
The airport stays open around the clock, but only parts of it: several piers close after the last departures and passengers are gathered into a few open areas with bright lighting and armrest-divided seating. If you need real rest, an airside cabin at YOTELAIR or a hotel on the CDGVAL is a far better use of the money.
Is there a hotel inside CDG Airport?
Two. Sheraton Paris Charles de Gaulle is built into Terminal 2, directly above the TGV and RER station, and YOTELAIR Paris CDG rents cabins airside in Terminal 2E, so transit passengers can sleep without clearing immigration.
Can I sleep at CDG without going through French immigration?
Yes, if you are connecting through Terminal 2E. YOTELAIR Paris CDG is in the transit zone near Gate L, bookable by the hour from four hours upwards, and you stay airside the whole time. Every other hotel at CDG, including the Sheraton, requires you to clear immigration first.
